Support

Your support helps ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station continue to be an arts and culture destination in San Diego for generations to come.

More than 20 years ago, the nonprofit NTC Foundation embarked on an unprecedented opportunity for San Diego to create ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, a significant new flagship destination for arts and culture at the former Naval Training Center in Point Loma.

With the support of generous community-minded individuals, who are at the heart of all we do, and their philanthropic efforts, we have been able to transform the iconic base by completing 17 of the 26 of the historic buildings.

Today, ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, San Diego’s newest cultural mecca, is flourishing with over 100 galleries, museums, artists, studios, unique dining experiences and nonprofits serving San Diego. Bringing over 2.1 million visitors to ARTS DISTRICT annually.

Support Liberty School

Liberty School gives at-risk students, often from military families, access to the arts education they deserve. An exposure to the arts helps children process emotions, teaches critical thinking and enhances their ability to learn. Students come to ARTS DISTRICT from all over San Diego County to take classes with professionals in the fields of photography, dance, art, music, playwriting and more! at no charge to the students or the schools.

Over 1000 students have gone through Liberty School with 20 ARTS DISTRICT Resident Groups, being paid funds to support their education departments- making this one of the most unique and impactful arts education programs. This is a program that relies 100% on donations—all funds pay artists and instructors. Donations to Liberty School support students access to art, non-profits educational opportunities and builds a brighter future for our community.

Dedicate a Bench on the North Promenade

San Diego’s former Naval Training Center is now a National Historic District in recognition of its architecture and the nearly 2 million young men and women who trained here for their Navy service. The NTC Foundation is offering a limited opportunity to dedicate –  with a distinctive commemorative bronze plaque –  one of the 24 benches lining the North Promenade that was used as Parade Grounds by young recruits. The ARTS DISTRICT’s expansive North Promenade is a gathering place for the community, a home to concerts, events and outdoor art installations, and a place to reflect and repose.

Dedicate a special lasting tribute that will be seen by thousands for years to come.   Each Tribute is $1500 and supports the Naval Training Center’s new mission as a training center for the arts while honoring its historic past.
